Barber Park Ribbon-Cutting Expansion Ceremony

Community & Services

The newly expanded Barber Park on Gatlin Avenue officially opened on March 2, 2020.

During the ribbon-cutting ceremony, children played during recess at the neighboring Lake George Elementary School. Orange County Mayor Jerry L. Demings and District 3 Commissioner Mayra Uribe, City of Orlando Commissioner Jim Gray were all in attendance.

The 15.5-acre addition includes two multi-purpose fields with lights and a splash pad for kids.

“It doesn’t get any better than this when we get to open a park for children and others who will come and play and families will visit and get to enjoy the amenities here,” said Mayor Jerry Demings.

The additional land is leased from the City of Orlando and developed by Orange County Parks and Recreation.
