Affordable Housing for Low-Income Seniors Opens Near Pine Hills

Community & Services

Orange County Mayor Jerry L. Demings and Orange County District 2 Commissioner Christine Moore recently attended the grand opening of The Preserve at Emerald Villas, which is an affordable housing community for low-income seniors in the Pine Hills area. The community is located at 3204 El Primo Way in Orlando.

This event marked the completion of 96 move-in ready units as part of the second phase of the affordable housing development, Emerald Villas.

Orange County Government gave $3.2 million in Federal Neighborhood Stabilization Program funds to the project as part of the recommendations for Mayor Demings’ Housing for All Task Force.

“What was once a property in foreclosure, became a targeted site for redevelopment for an affordable senior complex,” said Mayor Demings. “Today, we are witnessing the transformation in our community. I applaud the Related Group for their forward thinking and changing the face of affordable housing in Orange County. Thank you to the numerous partners who made today possible for our deserving seniors.”

Related Urban Development Group – the affordable housing arm of the development company The Related Group – in partnership with Orange County and Orlando Neighborhood Improvement Corporation hosted the ribbon cutting ceremony.

TRG Management is overseeing leasing and management of The Preserve at Emerald Villas. Potential tenants can apply via emeraldvillasapartments.com. For additional information, dial (407) 299-3080.
