Mayor’s Letter

Welcome to October, everyone!

Now is the perfect time of year to step outside and enjoy some of the annual community events and celebrations taking place in Central Florida. I urge you to take advantage of the cooler weather and explore the beautiful parks, trails, and lakes in Orange County.

The Orange County Community Conference is returning this year, and it represents a great opportunity to get involved in your neighborhood. This in-person event will be held at the Renaissance Senior Center on Saturday, October 14 at 7:30 a.m.  Please join me for a series of informative sessions, workshops and engaging speakers scheduled throughout the day.

This month also marks the return of Come Out with Pride Orlando – a showcase of the proud, welcoming, and diverse community that defines Orange County. This year’s event includes the Most Colorful Parade, live performances and a fireworks show. You can learn more inside this newsletter.

Finally, I encourage everyone to be safe and have fun this Halloween by accompanying young trick-or-treaters as they go door to door. Be sure to use caution when crossing streets, stick to well-lit areas and remember to drive cautiously in residential neighborhoods.

Sincerely,

Jerry L. Demings
Orange County Mayor
