Mayor’s Letter

Season’s Greetings,

I hope your Thanksgiving holiday was spent in the warm company of friends and family. As this year comes to a close, I could not be more appreciative of the amazing team at Orange County Government and all they have achieved in 2023. Their efforts have ensured that the County continues to grow as a diverse, inclusive and generous community for all!

Speaking of generosity, I would like to thank our community for the tremendous response we have already received to this year’s Holiday Toy Drive. There is still time for you to contribute, either with an online donation or by dropping off toys at one of our in-person locations. Each donation directly benefits local families in need through various Orange County youth and family agencies. You can learn more by visiting our webpage.

There are also plenty of holiday events happening across Orange County this month, with annual celebrations like the City of Orlando Tree Lighting (December 1), Ocoee’s Jolly Jamboree (December 9) and the historic Pine Hills Parade (December 9). Keep reading for more details.

Whether you celebrate Christmas, Chanukah or Kwanzaa, I wish you a joyous holiday season and good fortune in the coming new year.

Sincerely,

Jerry L. Demings
Orange County Mayor
