Mayor’s Letter

Orange County truly is the center of hospitality!

We’ve been buzzing with activity, hosting several large-scale events last month, including MEGACON at the Orange County Convention Center and the NFL Pro Bowl at Camping World Stadium. Additionally, the journey to the 2024 Paris Olympics ran through downtown Orlando with the celebration of the U.S. Olympic Marathon Trials. Congratulations to the athletes who qualified for the upcoming Olympic games.

As we transition to warmer weather, now is the perfect time to enjoy outdoor activities in Orange County. Immerse yourself in the world of sustainable gardening at this year’s UF/IFAS Garden Festival and Plant Sale. For those who love music, don’t miss the return of our annual Mayor’s Jazz in the Park at Cypress Grove Park in Orlando.

This month, we also recognize the female trailblazers and business leaders who have made a difference around the globe and here in Orange County during Women’s History Month. Join us for our annual Women’s History Month Forum and experience an insightful and meaningful discussion featuring stories of women in public service.

Finally, I invite you to take part in the Orange County Mayor’s Veterans Advisory Council as we honor and pay tribute to our local Vietnam War veterans and their spouses for their service and valor during a special pinning ceremony on National Vietnam War Veterans Day.

I wish you all the very best.

Sincerely,

Jerry L. Demings
Orange County Mayor
