The Demings Digest | November 2024

Business

Greetings,

Can you believe 2024 is nearly over? As our community continues to recover from the effects of Hurricane Milton, I hope you take this opportunity during the holiday season to gather with loved ones and appreciate all of the blessings we have been given. This month also is filled with exciting events in our community, and I encourage you to enjoy some of the festivities highlighted in this newsletter.

Join me in honoring our military veterans at this year’s Orange County Veterans Day Ceremony, which will take place outside the Orange County Administration building in downtown Orlando. Please take a moment to thank a veteran in your life for his or her service.

A vibrant celebration of arts and culture returns at FusionFest on November 30 and December 1. This free, two-day festival showcases music, dance, food and fashion from diverse cultures that make our community such an amazing place to live.

Finally, one of my favorite events of the year – the Orange County Mayor’s Holiday Toy Drive – will kick off on November 1. I encourage you to donate new, unwrapped toys in person or online through our virtual toy store to help bring joy to those in need this holiday season.

Wishing you a safe and joyful Thanksgiving!

Sincerely,

Jerry L. Demings
Orange County Mayor
