I hope you enjoyed some well-deserved time with loved ones over the holiday season. As we step into 2025, it is the perfect time to embrace the possibilities and opportunities that are ahead. I am truly grateful for the privilege of serving this vibrant, diverse community, and I remain dedicated to making it a safe, healthy and welcoming place for all.
First, I want to express my sincere gratitude to everyone for your support in making this year’s Holiday Toy Drive a tremendous success. Thanks to your generosity, we were able to collect and distribute over 10,500 toys to local families in need. I also want to recognize our incredible Orange County employees, who together pledged more than $1.4 million to support the Heart of Florida United Way Giving Campaign.
Looking forward, January brings several notable events including numerous celebrations honoring Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., a champion of equality and justice. I encourage you to join us in celebrating his incredible legacy by signing up for our Day of Service event at the Orange County Convention Center, where we will work side by side to pack one million nutritious meals for families in need.
I also invite you to learn more about your local government at our annual Orange County Mayor’s Open House and Job Fair. This free event represents a great opportunity to connect with your elected officials, explore valuable community programs, and discover the many ways Orange County and its partners work to make a difference.
