Mayor’s Letter

Greetings,

May has arrived, bringing plenty of reasons to gather and celebrate. This month, we recognize the people, heritage and cultures that contribute to the rich character of Orange County.

We invite you to take part in Memorial Day events across the County as we honor the brave men and women who have served our country. Ceremonies will be held at Cypress Grove Park in Orlando, the Orange County Courthouse and at Woodlawn Memorial Park, among other locations.

May is also a time to celebrate Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month. Join us outside the Orange County Administration Building for a special event featuring live cultural performances and interactive workshops. You can find more details about this celebration in this newsletter.

With hurricane season approaching, now is the time to get prepared. Orange County’s Hurricane Safety Guide is a go-to resource for important storm-related information, including safety tips and an emergency preparedness checklist.

Finally, Happy Mother’s Day to all the mothers and mother figures in our community. Your dedication and strength continue to inspire those around you.

Sincerely,

Orange County Mayor Jerry L. Demings
