Mayor Demings’ Housing for All Task Force: Final Recommendations to be Announced

WHAT: Orange County Mayor Jerry L. Demings’ Housing for All Task Force final meeting will be Friday, November 15, 2019 at 2 p.m. at the Orange County Administration Center. The Task Force will provide its final recommendations, including an action plan with a draft report that will be discussed and approved by the Task Force. This will be the final step before going to the Board of County Commissioners for a vote of acceptance of the recommendations before the end of the year.

The 38-member Housing for All Task Force reflected Orange County’s tremendous diversity and talent, and included representatives from all six Orange County Commission Districts, leaders from non-profit organizations and major regional employers, local homebuilders, industry associations, community partners, and financial institutions.

Mayor Demings’ vision for the Housing for All Task Force was to develop solutons for the growing housing crisis, with the mission of expanding housing options for Orange County residents.

The draft final report and summary of recommendations will be available on the Housing for All webpage at: www.ocfl.net/HousingForAll.

The entire Housing for All Task Force meeting will be available through Orange TV and Orange County’s Twitter and Facebook; a live broadcast will also be available. A link to the meeting is located on the Orange County Government’s website. A news conference will be held immediately following adjournment of the meeting. The conference could begin as early as 3 p.m. or late as 4 p.m. –depending on the discussion and/or public comments. The news conference will take place in the first floor lobby of the County Administration Center.
