Mayor Jerry L. Demings and Commissioner Christine Moore to Dedicate Lockhart Community History Mural

WHAT: Dedication and unveiling of the Lockhart Community History Mural. District 2 Commissioner Christine Moore and Orange County Mayor Jerry L. Demings will be joined by the Riverside Elementary School Chorus, Riverside Rhythm Drum Core and guitarist Bobby Sander.

Commissioner Moore collaborated with local artist Lisa Mikler, to create a four-panel mural that depicts Lockhart from its early beginnings as a thriving lumber town on the Little Wekiva River, to a vision for its future.

Commissioner Moore believes the mural represents the start of a “new Lockhart” as she seeks to create a thriving “downtown” district that includes businesses, attainable housing, and access to the new Florida Coast-to-Coast Trail.
