Orange County Announces 10th Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month Celebration

Mayor Demings' SealWHAT: Mayor Jerry L. Demings will join Orange County Government’s Asian Committee to celebrate the 10th Annual Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month. This year’s theme is Advancing Leaders Through Collaboration. The celebration will take place on May 10, 2022 at 7:30 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. at the County Administration Center in downtown Orlando.

The celebration will feature Asian American Cultural Performances, Distinguished Asian American & Outstanding Community Service Awards, and Asian themed art exhibition which showcases 43 art pieces submitted by the local school students and artists.   Mayor Demings will welcome guests and present a proclamation recognizing the valuable contributions of Asian-American employees and residents, as well as their dedication and commitment to building a better Orange County.

Valerie Boey, Fox 35 Reporter and President of Asian American Journalists Association and Kenway Wong, President of Greater Orlando Asian American Bar Association will serve as the hosts for the program.
