Orange County Animal Services Holds Adoption Event to Help Two Long-Term Residents
“Friday Favorites: Simoni & Crunch Day” This Friday at Animal Services
Orange County, Fla. – Orange County Animal Services (OCAS) announces today it is hosting an adoption event this Friday, December 22, 2023, for the benefit of a pair of dogs: Simoni (A535485) and Crunch (A535482). The event will take place during the shelter’s adoption hours, which are 10 a.m. through 6 p.m.
“While Simoni and Crunch aren’t necessarily our longest residents, they are by far the most talked about and most adored of our current shelter population,” says Diane Summers, manager for Orange County Animal Services. “Many of our staff and volunteers love these two and it’s our goal to land them a new home together.”
The shelter has highlighted the duo in a special patio enclosure, conducted multiple pushes for them on social media platforms and reached out to rescue partners, but the two still remain in need of a home.
Simoni is a 4-year-old tan-and-white dog weighing approximately 50 pounds and Crunch is a handsome 5-year-old black dog weighing 80 pounds. They were brought to Orange County Animal Services on October 20, 2023, because of a large-scale confiscation case for neglect. Animal Services suspects the dogs were housed outside for most of their lives with little socialization.
During Friday’s “Simoni and Crunch” event, the shelter will be placing these two in its front play yard, inviting guests to interact with them directly and with ease. This is the third event of its kind. The prior events, Blue Diamond Day in May 2022 and “Pick Nick” Saturday in March 2023, were both successful in helping the highlighted pets find adopters.
Simoni and Crunch will have their adoption fees waived for the duration of the event. Both will be ready to go home during the event, having already been spayed/neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. More information about the shelter’s adoption process can be found here.
