Orange County, FL – A new “speed dating” event will showcase several dogs at the Orange County Animal Services shelter, giving people the chance to match with a wonder-fur pet.

The event will be held at 2769 Conroy Road, on February 14, 2024, from 2pm to 6pm. Participants will be able to have a “first date” with several dogs in the play yards and decide if the animal is a furever fit for their family and home. People willing to adopt will be able to take the dog home that same day.

“We love making the most of events and holidays to help our shelter pets,” said Diane Summers, manager for Orange County Animal Services. “We couldn’t neglect Valentine’s Day as a chance to encourage people to unleash their love by taking in a shelter pet.”

Adoptions fees, for the month of February, are waived for animals designated as “ready to go.” This means the animal has been spayed or neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. 50 dogs currently qualify for this promotion and are ready to be adopted.

“This is the perfect chance to visit our shelter, easily meet several of our shelter stars and consider which might be the best match for your family,” said Summers. “Our team is carefully selecting our speed dating candidates with the hopes they will be successfully placed during the event.”
