Orange County Redistricting Advisory Committee will begin Community Meetings Starting on Thursday, March 27, 2025

Orange County, FL – A committee meeting of the 2025 Mid-Decennial Redistricting Advisory Committee (MRAC) charged with making recommendations for expanding the number of Orange County Commission Districts from six to eight will take place on Thursday, March 27, 2025.

The meeting will start at 6 p.m. inside the Orange County Multicultural Center, located at 7149 W. Colonial Drive, Orlando, FL 32818, and is the first of six community meetings held by the committee. The community meetings provide opportunities for residents to provide input into the redistricting process.

MRAC community meetings are scheduled from 6 to 9 p.m. The complete schedule of planned meetings is listed below:

In November 2024, Orange County voters approved a charter amendment to expand the number of commission districts from six to eight. The Orange County Board of County Commissioners is undertaking a redistricting process to establish new district boundaries and incorporate the two additional districts. To support this effort, the Board formed the 2025 MRAC in January 2025. The committee is responsible for:

  • Public meetings to gather community input
  • Reviewing census data
  • Proposing the boundaries for two new commission districts and recommending adjustments to existing districts
  • Submitting a non-binding recommendation to the Board of County Commissioners for review in September 2025
