Orange County Medical Clinic Celebrates National Cholesterol Awareness Month
Offers Free Cholesterol Checks Through COACH Program
Orange County, FL – The Orange County Medical Clinic (OCMC), a division of the Orange County Government, today announced it will provide free health screenings to all adults from September 10 – 12, 2025, as part of National Cholesterol Awareness Month. The County Outreach Awareness Community Health (COACH) team will offer services in the mobile medical unit, which will be set up in OCMC’s parking lot.
Health screenings will include blood pressure, blood sugar, and cholesterol. If a person’s numbers are high, the staff can provide resources within the Primary Care Access Network (PCAN), a network of healthcare providers in Orange County that aims to improve access to healthcare for uninsured and underinsured residents.
“It is imperative for people to be aware of their cholesterol levels,” said Jessica Rodriguez, division manager for OCMC. “High cholesterol symptoms are not always obvious, but can lead to more serious health complications like heart attacks and strokes. We want to make sure our community is informed of the resources available to prevent these serious health issues.”
