Affordable Housing Trust Fund Investment Supports Roof Repairs and Land Purchases for Attainable Homes
$3.06 Million Will Fund Efforts of Habitat for Humanity Greater Orlando & Osceola County
Orange County, FL — The Orange County Board of County Commissioners (BCC) voted on December 16, 2025, to allocate $3.06 million from its Affordable Housing Trust Fund (AHTF) to support Habitat for Humanity Greater Orlando & Osceola County. The nonprofit will receive $1.56 million for its Home Preservation Program, providing critical roof replacements for approximately 80 low-income homeowners across Orange County.
A second agreement approved by the BCC allocates $1.5 million from the AHTF to support Habitat Orlando & Osceola’s efforts to identify and acquire land for the future development of affordable homeownership units.

Since the creation of the Affordable Housing Trust Fund in 2020, Orange County has invested $58.5 million in affordable housing initiatives, supporting nearly 2,400 housing units and preserving existing homes. In October 2025, the Board approved an additional $58.65 million investment over the next three years to help create or preserve approximately 3,570 affordable housing units.
