COACH Program Delivers Record Number of Free Health Screenings
Orange County, FL – The Orange County Medical Clinic’s County Outreach Awareness Community Health (COACH) team shattered records last year by providing nearly 3,000 free health screenings, expanding access to vital care to thousands of Orange County residents.
“We increased free health screenings by 182 percent,” said Jessica Rodriguez, manager of the Orange County Medical Clinic. “That means we reached more than twice as many people as in 2024. It’s a big step toward helping residents take control of their health.”
In 2025, the COACH program provided 2,843 free health screenings and participated in 233 community events. In 2024, just over 1,000 screenings were provided and the team participated in 99 events.
The COACH team screens for the following:
- Blood Pressure
- Blood Sugar
- HbA1C
- Cholesterol
“All of the things we screen for can lead to serious health problems if left unchecked,” said Brittany Pickren, manager of the COACH Program. “Screenings give people the opportunity to take control of their health and avoid preventable trips to the hospital.”
Once an individual receives a screening, they can meet with an OCMC eligibility interviewer to see if they qualify for medical services at the Orange County Medical Clinic. If they do not meet the criteria, the staff can refer them to a healthcare provider within the Primary Care Access Network, which aims to provide affordable healthcare to the community.
