Statement from Mayor Demings on Valencia College Scholarships for Jones High School | January 7, 2026

Mayor Demings' Seal“What life-changing news for Jones High School this morning! I was thrilled to learn the entire student body—9th through 12th graders—will receive scholarships to Valencia College.

The scholarships mean four graduating classes will be able to better prepare themselves academically or technically for entry into the workforce without worrying about how to pay for it.

As a Jones graduate myself, I am deeply grateful to LiftOrlando for the transformative gift and send my heartiest congratulations to my fellow Jones Tigers.”

– Orange County Mayor Jerry L. Demings
