OCFL Update | Project Leave Behind Announcement
Orange County Mayor Teresa Jacobs joined Orange County Fire Chief Otto Drozd III and Orange County Medical Director Dr. Christian Zuver with first responders to announce Project Leave Behind on Oct. 10, 2018.
The new program supplies Orange County firefighters with Naloxone nasal spray kits for distribution to the families and loved ones of individuals treated by emergency medical services who remain at high risk of an overdose. Orange County Fire Rescue is the first fire department in Florida to launch the program. Naloxone, which is the emergency opioid antagonist administered during an emergency, can reverse an opioid overdose.
