Whoville Holiday Highlights Orange County’s Fundraising Success of $691,655 for Heart of Florida United Way
Since 1939, Heart of Florida United Way (HFUW) has been at the forefront of health and human care services in the Central Florida region. The nonprofit is dedicated to focusing on education, income, health and basic needs.
Every year, HFUW offers Orange County Government employees an opportunity to give back to the community. The Orange County HFUW Executive Steering Committee, departments and constitutional offices organized more than 100 events since the beginning of the fundraising campaign in June 2019, including luncheons, bake sales, golf tournaments and Orange County Fire Rescue’s 343 Hero Challenge.
This year, Orange County Government raised $691,655 for the local nonprofit, exceeding its goal of $500,000. The record-breaking total was announced earlier this month during the end-of-campaign celebration, themed Whoville for the holiday season.
