Mayor’s Letter

Happy New Year!

I hope you enjoyed time with family and friends over the holiday season. As we look ahead to 2026, now is the perfect moment to embrace the opportunities that a new year brings. I am deeply grateful for the privilege of serving as your Mayor for the past seven years and remain dedicated to making Orange County the experimental prototype community of tomorrow.

First, I want to thank everyone for making this year’s Holiday Toy Drive a record-breaking success. With your help, we collected and distributed more than 13,000 toys to local families in need. I also want to recognize our outstanding County employees, who collectively pledged more than $1.4 million to support the annual Heart of Florida United Way Giving Campaign to help our community.

January also brings several meaningful events, including celebrations honoring Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., a champion of equality and justice. I encourage you to join us at the Day of Service event at the Orange County Convention Center, where we will work side by side to pack one million nutritious meals for families in need.

Finally, I invite you to learn more about your local government at our annual Orange County Mayor’s Open House and Job Fair. This free community event offers a chance to connect with your elected officials, explore programs and services, and discover the many ways Orange County is working to make a difference.

Wishing you and your loved ones a joyful, safe and prosperous New Year.

Sincerely,

Orange County Mayor Jerry L. Demings
