Orange County Government Hosts 5K Run/Walk to Benefit Heart of Florida United Way

Orange County, FL – Orange County Government invites residents to its second annual United Way 5K Run/Walk on Saturday, November 22, beginning at 8:30 a.m. at the West Orange Trail – Chapin Station located at 501 Crown Point Cross Road, Winter Garden, FL 34787. All proceeds will benefit Heart of Florida United Way, Central Florida’s most comprehensive health and human services charity and the largest regional provider of funds to critical health and human services programs.

Registration is now open. To register online, visit The entry fee for children 14 and under is $10. For ages 15 and up, the fee is as follows: $20 from now to November 15, $25 November 16 to 21, and $30 on the day of the race. Children in strollers are free.

“Orange County Parks and Recreation is pleased to team up with Orange County Utilities to present this year’s 5K to benefit the Heart of Florida United Way,” said Matt Suedmeyer, Orange County Parks and Recreation Manager. “Chapin Station on the West Orange Trail in Winter Garden is a beautiful backdrop for citizens to run or walk and help our neighbors through United Way at the same time.”

The event will be timed with radio frequency identification device chips placed in participants’ bibs. Awards will be given to the top male and female overall and to the top three male and female finishers in each of the specified age groups. Participants will receive an event t-shirt.
