Orange, Osceola and Seminole County Animal Services and the Pet Alliance of Greater Orlando Unite for Holiday Pet Promotion Aiming for 1,000 Adoptions Across Central Florida

Orange County, Fla. — This holiday season, animal shelters in Orange, Seminole and Osceola counties are teaming up for the fourth annual “Home for the Holidays” adoption promotion. The goal is to boost pet adoptions, uniting homeless animals with loving homes in time for the holiday season. The four shelters combined have set a goal of 1,000 pet adoptions for the month of December.

Orange, Seminole and Osceola County’s Animal Services will reduce pet adoption fees to $12 or less for the entire month of December for the promotion. The Pet Alliance of Greater Orlando, with a location in Orlando and a second in Sanford, will reduce adoption fees to just $12 for the 12 days leading up to Christmas.

“Our shelter pets, each and every one of them, are looking for new families and it is our hope that this promotion will result in a record breaking adoption month and unprecedented success for our community’s homeless animals this holiday season,” said Dil Luther, manager of Orange County Animal Services.

“Opening your heart and home to a new pet this holiday season will be the gift that you remember for a lifetime,” said Carole Coleman, administrator of Seminole County Animal Services.

“This time of year we all think about the many things we have to be grateful for and how we can give back to our friends, family, and community,” said Kim Staton of Osceola County Animal Services. “Adopting a homeless pet is a great way to give-back. What you will receive in return is unconditional love, loyalty, and tremendous fun in return for your kindness. There simply is no better deal. So if you have room in your heart and your home this holiday season for a new family member, please consider adopting a homeless pet.”

“This partnership provides the community a great avenue to provide a pet their forever home,” said Steve Bardy, Executive Director of the Pet Alliance of Greater Orlando.
