Orange County Mayor Jerry L. Demings to Honor Fallen Heroes at Annual Memorial Day Event

Mayor Jerry L. Demings SealOrange County, Fla. (May 27, 2019) – Orange County Mayor Jerry L. Demings and the Mayor’s Veterans Affairs Advisory Council will honor members of the U.S. Armed Forces from Orange County who sacrificed their lives while serving their country. The County’s annual War Memorial Commemoration Ceremony will take place at the Orange County Courthouse Monday, May 27, 2019 at 10 a.m. The event is free and open to the public.

Mayor Demings will deliver remarks and present a proclamation during the event, and the Veterans Affairs Advisory Council will accompany him in a wreath-laying ceremony. This will be followed by the playing of “Taps” to commemorate the fallen heroes. The guest speaker for the event is Retired US Army Lieutenant Colonel Mark Green.
