Orange County Public Works cut ribbon on brand new roadway

Holden Avenue extension to connect John Young Parkway to Orange Blossom Trail

Orange County GovernmentOrange County, Fla. – The Orange County Public Works Department is opening a new roadway extending Holden Avenue west from Texas Avenue to John Young Parkway.  This extension will allow residents of the nearby neighborhoods to access John Young Parkway and Millenia Boulevard to the west.

In addition to a new section of road, Holden Avenue was reconstructed from Texas Avenue to Orange Blossom Trail to the east.  Improvements include sidewalks and bike lanes along both sides of Holden from John Young Parkway to Orange Blossom Trail.

Public Works awarded the contract for the project to Jr. Davis Construction Company in December of 2019.  The entire project took 28 months to complete at a cost of more than $22.5 million, including utility improvements.

With the road now open from Millenia Boulevard to Orange Blossom Trail, drivers and pedestrians have a new and improved east-west route through this busy area.
