Orange County Tourist Development Tax Citizen Advisory Task Force to Hold First Meeting, Wednesday March 22, 2023, at 9 a.m.

Orange County Tourist Development Tax (TDT) Citizen Advisory Task Force will meet for the first time this Wednesday, March 22, 2023, at 9 a.m. The agenda includes Sunshine Law Training, background, and history of the TDT Tax and the interest indicator process moving forward. Residents will also be able to provide public comment.

The goal of this task force is to review and provide input to the Board of County Commissioners and Tourist Development Council on potential uses of future, unencumbered TDT revenues within current statutory framework.

WHO:

The task force will be co-chaired by Jane Healy, former Managing Editor of the Orlando Sentinel, and Tony Jenkins, Florida Blue Market President for the Central Florida region and comprised of a diverse, cross-section of Orange County residents, with members from government, trade groups, the hospitality industry, and Chambers of Commerce that represent diverse Orange County populations.

A full list of Task Force members will be provided at Wednesday’s meeting.

Second Meeting | Monday, April 17, 2023 at 9 a.m.
Third Meeting | Wednesday, May 24, 2023 at 9 a.m.
Fourth Meeting | Monday, June 26, 2023 at 2 p.m.
Fifth Meeting | Monday, July 17, 2023 at 9 a.m.

The task force is expected to complete its work by July 2023, and will conclude with a report or presentation to the Tourism Development Council and the Board of County Commissioners on its findings.
