Orange County Jail Oversight Commission Holds Final Meeting

Orange County, FL – The final meeting of the Orange County Jail Oversight Commission will take place Monday, June 23, 2025 at 3:00 p.m. During the meeting, the Commission will review and discuss its draft which will be presented to the Board of County Commissioners at a later date.

The Orange County Jail Oversight Commission was convened by Mayor Jerry L. Demings and held its first meeting in January 2025. In response to the significant inmate population increase at the Orange County Jail over the past two years, and the costs associated with incarceration and healthcare, the Commission was tasked with examining best practices across the criminal justice system and making recommendations for improvement.
