Orange County Celebrates Opening of 90-Unit Affordable Housing Community

Residences at Emerald Villas is now accepting applications from income-qualified households

Orange County, FL — Orange County will participate in a ribbon-cutting ceremony for Residences at Emerald Villas, a 90-unit affordable apartment community, at 9 a.m. Monday, June 15, at 5845 El Segundo Way in Orlando.

Located in Pine Hills near Evans High School, Residences at Emerald Villas will provide affordable housing for households earning between 50% and 80% of the Area Median Income (AMI). Monthly rents for a two-bedroom apartment start at $1,306.

The development received significant public investment, including $2.5 million from Orange County’s Affordable Housing Trust Fund and $4.5 million through the federal American Rescue Plan Act. Emerald Villas is the third affordable housing community supported by the County’s Affordable Housing Trust Fund to open this year, following the completion of the 192-unit Whispering Oaks and 156-unit Barnett Villas.

The project was developed by Related Urban, the affordable housing arm of  Related Group, in partnership with the Orlando Neighborhood Improvement Corporation, and reflects ongoing efforts to expand affordable housing opportunities through public-private collaboration while supporting long-term neighborhood investment and revitalization.

Scheduled speakers at the event include Mayor Jerry Demings, Guillermo Mazon, Senior Development Manager with The Related Group, and Tony Del Pozzo, Senior Vice President with The Related Group. Tours of the property will be provided following the event.

Residences at Emerald Villas offers two- and three-bedroom apartments featuring granite countertops, stainless steel Energy Star-rated appliances, modern finishes, a technology-enabled work lounge, fitness center, controlled-access entry, landscaped green spaces, and walking trails throughout the community. The property is now leasing to income-qualified households. For availability and leasing information, call (407) 326-6061.
