Orange County Firefighters Respond to Major Crash at Day Care

Orange County, Fla., Orange County Firefighters and Paramedics treated 15 patients after a car crashed into a day care facility Wednesday afternoon.

Orange County Fire Rescue was notified of the crash at 3:06 p.m. The 9-1-1 caller reported that a vehicle had been struck and pushed into the KinderCare day care located at 4035 N. Goldenrod Road. Firefighters from Fire Station 63 arrived on scene in three minutes and found multiple injured people inside the building.

Mayor Jacobs to Open 2014 Hispanic Business Conference and Consumer Expo

Orange County Mayor Teresa Jacobs will provide the opening remarks for the Hispanic Business Conference at 8:30 a.m. and will later open the 2014 Hispanic Business & Consumer Expo during the celebratory ribbon cutting ceremony on Friday, April 11, at 2:30 p.m. at the North Building of the Orange County Convention Center, 9400 Universal Blvd., Orlando.

Carrie Hoeppner Proudfit selected as the new Public Relations and Outreach Specialist (P.I.O)

Orange County Corrections Chief Cornita A. Riley announced today that Carrie
Hoeppner Proudfit has been selected for the position of Public Relations & Outreach Specialist.
Proudfit will be responsible for all internal and external communication efforts on behalf of the
Corrections Department, which runs the 3rd largest jail in Florida and the 19th largest jail operations in
the nation.
