Enforces Orange County Code, Chapter 5, Animals; serves as the County’s only open admission pet shelter, meaning no animal in need is turned away; facilitates adoptions and rescue placements for animals in need; reunites missing pets with their families; promotes responsible pet ownership; engages with the public and at events, such as homeowner associations meetings; investigates inquiries relating to animal nuisances and ordinance violations; helps facilitate quarantines for possible rabies exposures following animal bites. For 24-hour emergency service weekends, holidays and after hours, call 407-836-4357 (Orange County Sheriff’s Office). Emergency calls only.
