Mayor Demings Celebrates 18th Annual Week of the Family Through Family Fun Photo Contest
Mayor’s Goal is to Promote Family Unity
WHAT: Tomorrow, Orange County Mayor Jerry L. Demings and Week of the Family Partners are giving away a Family Fun Pack which includes at 65” TV, a PlayStation 4 with four controllers, a karaoke machine, family-friendly games, plus six-month family YMCA Membership!
Due to COVID-19, Orange County’s 18th Annual Week of the Family (WOF) is taking a different look this year. Instead of gathering for the Annual Mayor’s Family Fun Day, Mayor Demings is partnering with the Week of the Family Foundation to engage residents through a Mayor’s Family Fun Photo contest. The activity is designed to promote unity and togetherness and honor this year’s WOF theme “My Family: My Heroes.”
“Of all the years, this theme couldn’t be more fitting. We’ve all been faced with difficult challenges, but what has remained strong is the bond and unity of the family,” said Orange County Mayor Jerry L. Demings. “Families are truly the backbone to our community, and every family has a hero or two among them.”
HOW: To enter the Mayor’s Family Fun Photo contest, residents are to take a family photo while watching Mayor Demings’ address to Orange County families at “Week of the Family-Orange County FL” Facebook Page or http://weekofthefamily.org/mayors-family-fun-photo-time/.
Additionally, contest participants must take and submit three photos of the whole family together doing/supporting any three activities from the list below:
- Dress up as the heroes you are
- Honor a deceased family hero
- Showcase your school
- Thank a local hero
- Cheer/Dance as a family
- Highlight a local park
- Donate blood
- Eat together, or
- Find/do a service (justserve.org)
Submit the four photos to http://weekofthefamily.org/mayors-family-fun-photo-time/ by November 14, 2020 at 2 p.m. The winner will be drawn from the eligible entrants and the PRIZE PATROL will deliver the FAMILY FUN PACK at 5 p.m. on November 14!
Prizes includes at 65” TV, a PlayStation 4, a karaoke machine, family-friendly games, plus six-month family YMCA membership!
