Domestic Violence Commission Reconvenes for a Final Meeting May 7, 2021 at 3:00 p.m.

Mayor Demings' SealWHAT: The Orange County Domestic Violence Commission will be holding their final meeting on Friday, May 7, 2021.   The meeting will be available virtually on the WebEx platform on May 7, 2021, beginning at 3:00 p.m. or through Orange TV.

The meeting agenda includes representatives from the Orlando Police Department and the Orange County Sheriff’s Office who will provide the latest domestic violence data and recent statistics.

Four subcommittees will present their proposed recommendations to the Domestic Violence Commission.

  • Court Process Committee
  • Community Services and Resources Committee
  • Public Awareness Committee
  • System Process Committee

The next steps will be to present the proposed recommendations to Mayor Demings and the Board of County Commissioners for acceptance at a future board meeting.

WHO: The Honorable Alice Blackwell, Ninth Judicial Circuit Judge and Mr. Dick Batchelor along with judges, the state attorney and the public defender from the Ninth Judicial Circuit chair the Commission. Law enforcement, service providers, community leaders, academia as well as survivors are on the Commission.
