Statement from Orange County Mayor Jerry L. Demings | January 22, 2024

Mayor Demings' Seal“Our nation has lost a civil rights leader with the passing of Dexter Scott King, the youngest son of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and Coretta Scott King. He shared in his family legacy by advocating for nonviolence, civil rights, and justice for all to a new generation of Americans. On behalf of Orange County Government and our Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Initiative, I extend my deepest condolences to the King family during this time.”

– Jerry L. Demings, Orange County Mayor
